Lawn Care - Turf Trainee

Become the Lawn Detective Homeowners Can't Live Without. Some people see a struggling lawn. You see a mystery waiting to be solved. You know that the right diagnosis, the right application, and the right care can turn a problem property into a neighborhood showpiece — and you take real pride in making that happen.

Responsibilities

• Own your route. Manage a route of 400–500 customers, delivering consistent, high-quality service on every visit.
• Diagnose and solve. Identify lawn problems others can't see and prescribe specific solutions that actually work for each individual property.
• Deliver the full package. Complete turf bid requests, fertilization applications, aeration, seeding, and service calls across your customer base.
• Be the expert. Develop a thorough knowledge of turfgrass practices as well as all other Ryan services so you can be a true resource for your customers.
• Build relationships. Provide excellent account management and customer service — earning the trust of homeowners who take pride in their outdoor spaces.

Requirements

• A High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience in horticulture, landscaping, customer service, or a related field preferred.
• Bachelor's or Associate's degree in agronomy, turfgrass, or agricultural sciences is a plus.
• Valid driver's license; ability to obtain DOT certification.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a state-issued pesticide applicator license (turfgrass) within 3 months.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• A curious, problem-solving mindset and a genuine love for the outdoors.

Safety-Sensitive Position

• This is a safety-sensitive position requiring the operation of vehicles and equipment.
