Lawn Care - Turf Trainee

Responsibilities
- Own your route. Manage a route of 400–500 customers, delivering consistent, high-quality service on every visit.
- Learn to diagnose and solve. Identify lawn problems others can't see and prescribe specific solutions that actually work for each individual property.
- Deliver the full package. Complete turf bid requests, fertilization applications, aeration, seeding, and service calls across your customer base.
- Develop a thorough knowledge of turfgrass practices as well as all other Ryan services so you can be a true resource for your customers.
- Build relationships. Provide excellent account management and customer service — earning the trust of homeowners who take pride in their outdoor spaces.
- Work hard, together. Thrive independently on your route while also being a strong team player.
Requirements
- A High School Diploma or GED required
- Valid driver's license; ability to obtain DOT certification
- Ability to obtain and maintain a state-issued pesticide applicator license (turfgrass) within 3 months
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- A curious, problem-solving mindset and a genuine love for the outdoors

Safety-SENSITIVE POSITION: This is a safety-sensitive position requiring the operation of vehicles and equipment. All candidates must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen (including marijuana), criminal background check, MVR check, and DOT physical (where applicable) before starting employment. Candidates must meet all screening requirements as a condition of employment.
