What You’ll Be Doing
- Dialose and repair John Deere lawn & garden equipment (tractors, zero-turns, gators, compact utility tractors) — plus other brands sold at our dealership.
- Perform small engine diagnostics and maintenance to keep outdoor power equipment performing at its best.
- Participate in John Deere University training and dealer-led programs to keep your skills sharp.
- Stay ahead of the curve with ongoing training and manufacturer certifications.
- Keep vehicles, tools, and equipment in top shape while maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
- Complete work orders, track materials, and account for billable time with accuracy.
What Skills You Should Possess
- Diagnostic Skills: Able to troubleshoot and repair small engines, turf equipment, and lawn & garden machines.
- Technical Proficiency: Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems in turf equipment.
- Customer Focus: Ensure the right repairs are done in a timely and thoughtful manner.
- Continuous Learning: Commitment to ongoing training through John Deere University and service programs, company paid.
- Equipment Operation: Capable of safely operating mowers, gators, and small tractors for diagnostic purposes.
- Workplace Organization: Maintains a clean, safe, and efficient shop environment.
- Documentation & Reporting: Accurately completes all reports, work orders, and documentation.
What Makes You an Ideal Candidate?
- You’re Not Just Mechanically Inclined — You Bring Proven Technical Expertise and a Customer-first Mindset
- 1+ years diagnosing and repairing lawn & garden or small engine equipment.
- Strong grasp of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
- Experience with John Deere Service ADVISOR™ or other diagnostic tools a plus.
- Team player who values quality workmanship.
- Able to lift 75 lbs, adapt to shop and outdoor work, and follow all safety standards.
- High school diploma required; technical training or certifications preferred.
- Valid driver’s license required; forklift license a plus.
- Must have own tools to perform repairs.
