Law Enforcement Security Officer: Part Time Armed Patrol Response

About the role

Join Allied Universal as an Armed Security Officer supporting a government airport location in Honolulu, HI. You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, respond to security-related concerns, and provide professional customer service to travelers, staff, and visitors. This role leverages law enforcement or military police training experience in a team committed to integrity and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
• Exercise sound judgement and render immediate, appropriate decisions under stressful conditions.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of airport terminals, roadways, parking areas, perimeter areas, and other assigned locations to identify and report unusual conditions or unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and restricted areas, verify credentials when assigned, and report access-control concerns in accordance with site-specific procedures.
• Prepare accurate reports and maintain required documentation related to patrols, incidents, observations, and security-related activities.
• Coordinate with airport operations, law enforcement, and emergency responders as appropriate.
• Supervise contractor personnel and work effectively with airport management, tenants, other law enforcement agencies, and the public on security disputes or complaints.
• Provide court appearances for citations issued on behalf of DOTA, with replacement staffing provided as needed.

Requirements

• 2+ years of professional law enforcement experience in the U.S. after graduating from a certified law enforcement academy (Federal, State, or County level).
• Graduate of a Law Enforcement or Military Police Training Program or equivalent (must provide credentials upon applying).
• Valid Driver’s License (required for driving positions).
• Law Enforcement Officer License.
• 22+ years of age.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
• No felony convictions or convictions for abuse of a household member under the Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968 (18 U.S.C.922(g)(9)).
• No documented truthfulness infractions in violation of Giglio/Henthorn for federal impeachment proceedings.
• No record of moral turpitude, domestic violence, untruthfulness, or mental/emotional disorders that may interfere with performance of duties.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation, drug screen, and security background check conducted by the DOTA pass and ID office.
• Pass a one-time physical examination within the past 6 months and a 12-panel drug test, including future random drug testing.
• Mentally and emotionally capable of performing all duties, including moderate to arduous physical exertion such as standing, walking, patrolling, climbing stairs, running, and self-defense for entire shifts.

Qualifications

• Completion of one of the following approved programs:
  • Certified State law enforcement recruit training.
  • Certified County law enforcement recruit training.
  • Federal law enforcement training.
  • Programs approved by the Director.
• Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 lbs. (e.g., fire extinguisher) for a designated distance.
• Ability to assist in the safe evacuation of individuals, including carrying a small child or supporting persons with limited mobility.
• Correctable vision to 20/30 in each eye with normal color vision.
• Able to hear at a normal conversational level (hearing aid permissible).
• Well-groomed and neat in appearance as officially commissioned representatives of the State.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Armed guard card or license is preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Standing, walking, or patrolling for an entire shift.
• Climbing stairs, running, and performing self-defense as required.
• Exercising physical force, if required, in the execution of official duties.
• Ability to perform essential physical tasks with or without reasonable accommodation.

Pay

$34.50 / hour

Schedule

• Wednesday: 11:30 PM - 08:00 AM
• Saturday: 11:30 PM - 08:00 AM
• Sunday: 11:30 PM - 08:00 AM
