Law Enforcement Security Officer: Full Time Armed Patrol Driver

About the role

As an Armed Patrol Driver in Honolulu, HI, you will serve and safeguard clients in industries such as Government. Conduct routine vehicle and foot patrols, maintain a visible presence to deter security-related incidents, and respond to situations with professionalism. Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
• Exercise sound judgement and render immediate, appropriate decisions under stressful conditions.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of airport terminals, parking areas, roadways, facilities, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and restricted areas, verify credentials, and report unusual conditions, policy violations, and maintenance concerns.
• Carry authorized equipment in accordance with applicable laws, licensing requirements, post orders, and Allied Universal policies.
• Complete required activity and incident reports.
• Supervise contractor’s personnel and work effectively with airport management, tenants, other law enforcement agencies, and the public on security-related matters.
• Provide court appearances for citations issued on behalf of DOTA, with replacement staffing provided as needed.

Requirements

• 2+ years of professional law enforcement experience in the U.S. after graduating from a certified law enforcement academy (Federal, State, or County level).
• Graduate of a Law Enforcement or Military Police Training Program or equivalent (must provide credentials upon applying).
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Law Enforcement Officer License.
• 22+ years of age.
• Able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
• No felony convictions or convictions for abuse of a household member under the Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968 (18 U.S.C. 922(g)(9)).
• No documented truthfulness infractions in violation of Giglio/Henthorn for federal impeachment proceedings.
• No record of moral turpitude, domestic violence, untruthfulness, or mental/emotional disorders that may interfere with performance of duties.
• Pass a security background check conducted by the DOTA pass and ID office.
• Pass a one-time physical examination within the past 6 months.
• Pass a 12-panel drug test and all future random drug testing.
• Correctable vision to 20/30 in each eye with normal color vision.
• Able to hear at a normal conversational level (hearing aid permitted).

Qualifications

The following are minimum qualifications required for success in this role:

• Completion of one of the following approved programs:
  • Certified State law enforcement recruit training.
  • Certified County law enforcement recruit training.
  • Federal law enforcement training.
  • Programs approved by the Director.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds preferred.
• Armed guard card or license preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Mentally and emotionally capable of performing all assigned duties.
• Good physical health and capable of moderate to arduous physical exertion, including:
  • Standing and walking patrols for entire shifts.
  • Climbing stairs, running, and self-defense.
  • Lifting and carrying objects up to 25 lbs. (e.g., fire extinguisher) for a designated distance.
  • Assisting in safe evacuation of individuals, including carrying a small child or supporting persons with limited mobility.
• Ability to exercise physical force if required.
• Well-groomed and neat in appearance as officially commissioned representatives of the State.
• Subject to random drug screening.

• Monday: 11:30 PM - 08:00 AM
• Wednesday: 11:00 PM - 07:30 AM
• Friday: 03:30 PM - 12:00 AM
• Saturday: 11:30 PM - 08:00 AM
