Duties

Help If selected, you will serve as the Law Enforcement Coordination Specialist for the United States Attorney's Office - Eastern District of Michigan. The work involves providing authoritative expert advice on effective information sharing, coordination, and multi-jurisdictional partnerships with and between law enforcement agencies and officials throughout the district and beyond. Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Leading, facilitating, and promoting the utilization of effective strategies for authoritative expert information sharing;

  • Developing and maintaining professional relationships with regional and national contacts to facilitate solutions to complex multi-jurisdictional issues and needs;

  • Providing guidance on law enforcement agency resource allocations and constraints;

  • Communicating and coordinating with prosecutors, law enforcement officials, specialized groups, and other criminal justice/public safety partners.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progresses.

Requirements

Conditions of employment You must be a U.S. Citizen or National Initial appointment is conditioned upon a satisfactory pre-employment adjudication. Continued employment is subject to a favorable adjudication of a background investigation You must be registered for Selective Service, if applicable If selected, you may be required to complete a one year probationary period. You must meet all qualification requirements upon the closing date of this announcement. A USA Hire assessment is required. Qualifications

To qualify for the position of Law Enforcement Coordination Specialist, you must meet the qualification requirements listed below. GS-13: To be eligible at the GS-13 level, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service as defined below. Specialized experience is defined as experience applying expert knowledge of public safety, law enforcement, criminal justice, or similar governmental systems including the roles and functions of federal/state/county/local prosecutors; professionally and effectively communicating detailed and complex multimedia information to diverse audiences; developing and implementing plans, actions, and recommendations to effectively respond to needs, crises, and criticism related to litigative matters, law enforcement actions, and partnerships, including the management of public relations; identifying and analyzing information about training, publications, and grant programs; creating complex informational products to address organizational needs and gaps; or inter-governmental relations and communications.

  • Payment of relocation expenses will not be authorized.
