About the role

The Department of Justice and the United States Attorneys' Offices rely on a coordinated effort from various law enforcement agencies. This position plays a crucial role in facilitating these collaborations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a comprehensive Law Enforcement Coordination program.
  • Establish and maintain communication between the United States Attorney's Office and federal, state, and local organizations.
  • Provide information directly to state and local law enforcement organizations through active service and participation in task forces, committees, and associations.
  • Analyze law enforcement programs, audiences, and priorities.
  • Identify the informational and resource needs of law enforcement organizations.
  • Develop and disseminate relevant information through appropriate media.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
  • Initial appointment is conditioned upon a satisfactory pre-employment adjudication, including fingerprint, credit and tax checks, and drug testing.
  • Continued employment is subject to a favorable adjudication of a background investigation.
  • Must be registered for Selective Service, if applicable.

Qualifications

  • To be eligible for the GS-12, you must have one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 in the Federal service.
  • Specialized experience for this grade would include: administering a Law Enforcement Coordination program among Federal, state, and/or local law enforcement agencies by performing the following types of duties:
  • analyzing law enforcement organization informational and resource needs;
  • coordinating and/or conducting meetings with law enforcement subject-matter specialists and federal, state and local officials;
  • developing written materials regarding law enforcement programs, initiatives, or innovations;
  • organizing and presenting training programs, workshops, and other meetings addressing law enforcement/criminal justice needs.
