Responsibilities

  • Support defense litigation matters from initial case review through resolution, helping move files forward in an organized and timely manner.
  • Prepare legal motions, memoranda, and other written submissions with attention to accuracy, persuasiveness, and applicable procedural rules.
  • Aid in written advocacy by researching legal issues and drafting briefs for court filings.
  • Manage discovery activities by drafting responses, preparing requests, and reviewing produced materials.
  • Work closely with attorneys on civil litigation strategy, case development, and day-to-day file handling.
  • Organize case documents, deadlines, and litigation materials to help ensure compliance with court schedules and client needs.
  • Participate in hearings, client communications, and other litigation support tasks as experience and licensing permit.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor degree with 0-5 years of relevant legal experience in litigation or closely related practice areas.
  • Active attorney license in good standing, or eligibility to work in a law clerk capacity while pursuing admission, as applicable.
  • Foundational knowledge of civil litigation procedure and defense-oriented case handling.
  • Ability to draft motions, legal briefs, and other court-related documents with strong written communication skills.
  • Experience with or understanding of discovery processes, including document review and written responses.
  • Strong legal research, analytical thinking, and organizational abilities.
  • Willingness to learn, accept mentorship, and develop within a general civil defense litigation practice.

Skills

Pay

The pay range for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.

Schedule

The schedule for this position is typically full-time, but flexible arrangements may be considered based on individual needs and the needs of the firm.
