Job Summary
Aid in-house attorneys by conducting research on various legal issues. Collaborate on special projects and assignments as directed.
What you'll do
- Conduct legal and regulatory research in areas like health and life insurance law, employment law, administrative law, contractual matters, and litigation.
- Prepare factual summaries of complex legal matters for attorney review.
- Attend meetings with in-house counsel to gain a comprehensive understanding of the company and assist with presenting on regulatory and legal topics.
What you need
- Ability to critically analyze documents, case law, statutes, and regulations.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Organizational and time management abilities.
- Proficiency in legal research tools and Microsoft Office.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Enrollment in an accredited law school program with a strong academic record required.
- Highly preferred: prior law clerk experience.
Physical Requirements
Sedentary desk work. Up to 90% of the day spent using a computer. Occasional lifting of boxes up to 25 lbs.
Compensation
\$23.58 - \$29.40 per hour. Non-exempt, 12-hour schedule. Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas offers competitive compensation with the goal of retaining and growing talented team members.
