Law Clerk II
About the role
CGS is seeking an experienced Law Clerk to provide assistance in all phases of litigation for a large federal agency office. This office handles high-profile cases involving opioid litigation and other complex federal matters.
Responsibilities
- Assist with all phases of litigation, particularly opioid cases and other high-profile cases.
- Prepare trial materials and conduct litigation tasks as directed by attorneys.
- Analyze documents, transcripts, and files to locate relevant information and evidence.
- Search electronic databases for documents and information, and troubleshoot technical issues with review platforms.
- Apply redactions to documents, including audio files, and draft review memos and other litigation documents.
- Communicate with case teams regarding ongoing litigation and manage litigation review materials.
- Track litigation case support using task ticketing software.
Qualifications
- J.D. Degree or equivalent legal training.
- Active membership in the Bar in any U.S. jurisdiction.
- At least two years of progressively more responsible experience on litigation support projects.
- Sound working knowledge of federal and state court systems, legal research procedures, and legal research resources.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, and thorough knowledge of legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw.
- Hands-on familiarity with a variety of computer applications, including word processing, databases, spreadsheets, and imaging.
- Knowledge of eDiscovery procedures and resources.
Skills
- Experience with civil litigation, especially complex federal cases and jury trials.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay
Salary is commensurate with experience.
