About the role

This is a part-time, variable-hourly remote position with expectations of on-site partnership. Due to the location of client sites and travel requirements, this role is open to candidates who reside in New Mexico. The position requires weekly travel to partner school sites, typically up to four days per week. While we strive to assign consultants to clients within the same region, travel may extend to other states within the Southwest Region (Texas, Nevada, Arizona, Colorado) and may require overnight stays. Consultants should expect to spend up to 7-8 hours per day onsite at assigned schools.

Educational Consultants play a critical role in directly supporting partner schools to achieve world-class instruction through effective professional development and instructional coaching. We are seeking multiple Educational Consultants with English Language Arts expertise to support schools in delivering high-impact coaching and instructional support.

Responsibilities

• Strategically set the vision for high-impact instruction and implementation of English language arts curriculum and instructional models in school or network/district partnerships to ensure strong and equitable outcomes for all students.
• Design and develop instructional materials and resources tailored to each partner’s specific needs and strategy, including adapting existing Lavinia Group materials and creating new content.
• Ensure high-quality, impactful instructional management plans, professional development, and coaching services are provided to teachers, instructional coaches, building leaders, and system leaders.
• Engage in collaborative team structures to ensure alignment between Lavinia Group team members and to continuously improve instructional tools.
• Coach and support teachers in implementing research-based ELA interventions and high-quality instructional materials (HQIM).
• Deliver model literacy lessons and classroom demonstrations to support teacher development and highlight instructional best practices.
• Model the intellectual preparation process and build the skill and capacity of leaders and teachers to plan confidently and independently.
• Actively monitor progress of partners through onsite coaching, ongoing data analysis, and meetings with key stakeholders.
• Support the team with additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to help meet evolving organizational goals and objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in literacy or proven content expertise strongly preferred.
• 5+ years of experience teaching, coaching, and leading in an elementary or secondary literacy setting.
• 3+ years of K–12 leadership experience as an assistant principal, principal, charter or district-level director or managing director, or superintendent.
• Experience working with diverse learner populations, including students with special education needs, multilingual learners, and students from a range of socioeconomic backgrounds across charter, public, and private school settings.
• Track record of achieving strong academic outcomes in a school setting working across grades K–12.
• Strong writing and communication skills, including experience leading both virtual and in-person professional learning.
• Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively and balance multiple demands while working across several partner schools.
• Knowledge of the Common Core State Standards preferred.

Pay

The estimated daily rate for each piece of onsite work ranges from $645 to $845 per day, inclusive of preparatory time. This calculation is based on:

• $100/hour for onsite work or virtual billable time.
• $30/hour for non-billable time, such as preparation or internal meetings.
