Location

This is a remote position with expectations of on-site partnership. Due to the location of client sites and travel requirements, this role is open to candidates who reside in Massachusetts and proximal states (Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, New Hampshire, Vermont).

Travel

This position requires weekly travel to partner school sites in Massachusetts (one to four days per week). Please plan to spend up to 7-8 hours per day onsite at assigned schools.

The Opportunity

At Lavinia Group, a division of K12 Coalition, Educational Consultants play a critical role in directly supporting partner schools across the country to achieve world-class instruction through effective professional development and instructional coaching. We are seeking an experienced instructional leader with deep expertise in K-12 English Language Arts (ELA) to support Lavinia Group's school and district partnerships in Massachusetts.

What You’ll Do

  • Strategic Planning and Content Development
  • Design and develop instructional materials and resources tailored to each partner’s specific needs and strategy
  • Ensure that high-quality, impactful instructional management plans, professional development, and coaching services are provided to teachers, instructional coaches, building leaders, and system leaders
  • Engage in collaborative team structures to ensure alignment between Lavinia Group team members and to continuously improve Lavinia Group instructional tools
  • Coach and instruct instructional leaders to strengthen the systems, structures, and routines needed to translate instructional priorities into consistent practice, including effective intellectual preparation and collaborative meetings
  • Support instructional leaders in developing a clear vision for excellent K-12 ELA teaching and learning, including modeling exemplary instruction and evidence-based practices
  • Facilitate structured analysis of student work and data to identify instructional priorities, analyze misconceptions, and develop action plans
  • Actively monitor progress of partners through onsite coaching, ongoing data analysis, observation and feedback cycles, and meetings with key stakeholders to drive measurable and sustainable improvements in teaching and learning
  • Support the team with additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to help meet evolving organizational goals and objectives

Requirements

  • Deep content knowledge in elementary English Language Arts and/or secondary English Language Arts — Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related content area strongly preferred
  • 5+ years of experience teaching, coaching, and leading in the content area
  • 3+ years of K–12 leadership experience as an assistant principal, principal, charter or district-level director or managing director, or superintendent
  • Experience working with diverse learner populations — including students with special education needs, multilingual learners, and students from a range of socioeconomic backgrounds — across charter, public, and private school settings
  • Track record of achieving strong academic outcomes in a school setting working across grades K–12
  • Strong writing and communication skills, including experience leading both virtual and in-person professional learning
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively and balance multiple demands while working across several partner schools
  • Knowledge of the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks preferred

Compensation Range

The Estimated Daily Rate For Each Piece Of Onsite Work Ranges From $645 To $845 Per Day, Inclusive Of Preparatory Time. This Calculation Is Based On $100/hour for onsite work or virtual billable time $30/hour for non-billable time, such as preparation or internal meetings.
