About the role

You will maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of all silverware, glassware, food-processing machines, and related equipment. The ideal candidate values punctuality, supports other kitchen staff as needed, and strictly follows all health and sanitation protocols.

Responsibilities

• Organize all dirty dishes, glassware, and kitchen utensils in the dishwashing area.
• Change the dishwasher water every hour.
• Roll and unroll mats to clean the floor.
• Operate the industrial dishwasher.
• Hand-wash glassware and other utensils when necessary.
• Empty and clean all trash containers.
• Clean ice tea machines, coffee machines, and other specified equipment daily.
• Rotate dishes to reduce wear on resources.
• Clean the dish storage area.
• Follow sanitation policies at all times.
• Assist the chef’s assistant and other kitchen staff as needed, especially during peak hours.
• Perform opening, closing, and other assigned duties.
• Clean spills immediately and safely dispose of broken glass.
• Report any sanitation or maintenance issues to the appropriate party.
• Perform other related tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• Ability to handle physically demanding work, including lifting heavy objects.
• Strong critical thinking and time management skills.
• Experience operating industrial machinery and transporting loads up to 25 pounds.
• Willingness to work in a hot, humid environment for 8-hour shifts while standing.
• Ability to sit, climb, bend, and kneel as required by the role.
• Capable of lifting up to 25 pounds or moving objects up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to multitask in a high-volume restaurant environment.
