Laundry Technician
Responsibilities
- Collecting residents' soiled personal clothing from residents’ rooms;
- Collecting long-term care residents' personal clothing from nursing units.
- Collecting house linens from nursing units and dining rooms to avoid soiled linen buildup.
- Transporting laundry containers to Laundry.
- Sorting and weighing laundry.
- Loading soiled linen into washers.
- Loading clean, wet linens into dryers.
- Operating commercial washing machines and dryers.
- Folding clean, dry linen.
- Making up carts of linens for delivery.
- Washing, drying, and folding personal clothing.
- Adding name labels to new personal items.
- Returns clean linens and personal items to nursing units and residents/guests’ rooms to avoid clean linen shortages.
- Delivering incontinent products to patient rooms.
- Maintaining laundry areas in a neat, orderly, and safe manner.
- Maintaining equipment.
Requirements
- Experience in healthcare facility is preferred.
