STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE

• Ensures departmental adherence to proper infection control, OSHA and safety standards.
• Attends meetings and training sessions.
• Cleans equipment and notifies the Manager of equipment needing repairs.
• Reports safety hazards to the Manager or submit a help desk ticket for maintenance.
• Transports clean linen from the laundry to the clean linen rooms in the facility; and soiled linen from the soiled linen rooms to the laundry, as necessary to ensure the quality of care to the patients/residents.
• Maintains organizational facilities in accordance with TJC, federal and state, organizational and departmental policies and procedures.
• Performs the day-to-day laundry functions as assigned.
• Coordinates daily laundry services with nursing service when performing routine assignments in resident living areas.
• Performs assigned tasks in accordance with established laundry procedures.
• Cohort routine/terminal isolation procedures with nursing service.
• Collects and sorts linen, garments, etc., and separates those items that require special stain removal/treatment.
• Cleans floors, to include sweeping, dusting, damp/wet mopping; and posting appropriate Safety Signs prior to cleaning.
• Folds, counts, stacks, wraps, and distributes clean laundry, linen, garments, etc., to residents daily, and/or as instructed.
• Keeps walls clean by washing, wiping, dusting, spot cleaning, disinfecting, deodorizing, etc.
• Removes dirt, dust, grease, film, etc., from equipment/floor surfaces using proper cleaning/disinfecting solutions.
• During emergency conditions, assures that clean laundry, linen, garments, etc., are distributed to designated areas as instructed.
• Discards waste/trash into proper containers and relines trash receptacle with plastic liner.
• Maintains supply needs.
• Turns in all found items to your manager.

Requirements

• Minimum Level of Education: High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• No formal Training required.
• No Licensure, Certification, or Registration required.
• Work Experience: One to three months experience is preferred as a laundry worker; or related work in the healthcare or related industry.
