Bienvivir All-Inclusive Senior Health (“Bienvivir”) is a community-based, patient-centered, comprehensive health care delivery system that advocates and promotes quality of life, optimum independence, dignity, and choices in a nurturing environment for frail seniors. Since 1987, Bienvivir has served the frail seniors of El Paso, Texas through the provision of the Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (“PACE”). PACE is a unique managed care benefit for frail seniors (referred to as participants) age 55 and older who are certified by the state as needing nursing home level care and who reside in a PACE service area. PACE programs coordinate and provide comprehensive medical and support services so that participants can remain independent and stay in their homes for as long as safely possible.

Responsibilities
Laundry Operations
- Collects soiled linens from designated areas following facility schedules.
- Sorts linens by type, fabric, and level of contamination.
- Loads and operates commercial laundry equipment safely and efficiently.
- Folds, labels, and distributes clean linens and participant clothing accurately.
- Inspects linens for damage and removes torn or heavily stained items from circulation.
Infection Control
- Handles soiled linens using Standard Precautions and appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Separates soiled laundry.
- Operates washers and dryers at temperatures and chemical concentrations.
- Ensures clean and soiled linen areas remain physically separated to prevent cross-contamination.
- Immediately reports unsafe conditions, equipment malfunctions, or infection control concerns to supervisor.
Safety & Equipment Use
- Operates laundry machinery.
- Uses proper lifting techniques to prevent injury.
- Maintains a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.
- Reports work orders to the Adult Daycare Manager.
- Participates in required in-service training, including infection control, HIPAA awareness, and emergency preparedness.
Documentation & Quality Assurance
- Maintains laundry logs.
- Assists in quality monitoring activities related to linen services.
- Supports facility surveys and inspections.
Daycare Operation
- Distribute meals and assist participants with feeding as needed.
- Provide reassurance, encouragement, and support to the participants.
- Motivate participants to maximize involvement with program activities and to increase independence according to the individual’s abilities.
- Assist with loading and unloading participants on/off the van during their arrival and departure from the center in a safe manner.
- Assist Activity Coordinator to carry out daily recreational activities (Recreational/Physical Activities, Arts & Crafts, Social/Educational activities, entertainment activities).
- Adhere to all Bienvivir policies and procedures.
- Assist with all emergency evacuation activities as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or high school equivalency.
- Previous laundry or environmental services experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
- One year of experience working with a frail or elderly population preferred.
- CPR certified.
- Food Handlers Card required.
Skills
- Basic understanding of infection control practices.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical ability to lift 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish).
- Basic Computer Skills.
- Ability to maintain and demonstrate competency skills.
- Understanding, patience, and professionalism in working and communicating with participants, visitors, families, personnel, and medical staff.
- Ability to follow Bienvivir policies and procedures pertaining to duties performed.
- Professionalism in the delivery of participant care.
- Ability to manage confidential data according to policy and procedure and HIPAA regulations.
- Good time management skills.
