Laundry Aide

About the role

Pavilion on Main Street is seeking a Laundry Aide to join their team. The Laundry Aide provides a variety of laundry duties in an orderly, sanitary condition and in collecting and laundering of linens, garments, and washables. This is a collectively bargained position under the union.

Responsibilities

• Sorts all linens and treat stains
• Loads all laundry into washer and adds specified cleaning agents
• Takes wet, clean items and dries as directed
• Sorts and folds or hangs clean dried items
• May deliver laundry to various locations, including residents’ rooms
• Maintains inventory of all cleaning supplies and communicates needs to manager
• Maintains all laundry equipment and informs facility’s manager as to any maintenance needs
• All other duties, as assigned

Skills and Abilities

• Must be able to read, speak and understand the English
• Must be able to operate washer/dryer

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Experience in an institutional setting performing housekeeping services preferred

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday
• Must be able to push, pull, move and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet
• May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations
