Laundry Aide

Avalon Health Care Bellingham is seeking a detail-oriented Laundry Aide to join our team.

Pay

$20.35–$23.95 per hour. Placement within the wage range is determined by years of experience, qualifications, and demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions.

Schedule

Full time, 1:00 pm – 8:00 pm.

Responsibilities

• Perform all functions of linen services to include collection, sorting, washing, and drying of linen.
• Count, sort, and distribute daily clean linen.
• Wash personal clothing of residents who request this service.
• Handle linen services for other facility departments as required.
• Maintain the laundry room in a clean and orderly manner.
• Use Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) while handling linen and chemicals.
• Work in a non-regulated temperature environment.
• Avoid energy waste (e.g., unnecessary lights).

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior housekeeping experience in a health care or hospitality setting preferred.
• Enjoy serving seniors.
• Demonstrate excellent customer service and hospitality.
• Trustworthiness and dependability.
• Work efficiently and effectively with little to no supervision.
• Effective communication skills.
• Organized with attention to detail.
• Follow proper techniques when mixing chemicals, disinfectants, and solutions used in the work area.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
