Laundry Aide

About the role

Implement required housekeeping procedures in an efficient, cost-effective manner while meeting all federal, state, and local requirements and providing a safe environment for residents.

Responsibilities

• Maintains resident rooms by cleaning restrooms, walls, baseboards, doors, ceilings, mirrors, dusting, washing windows, and removing trash
• Moves furniture to dry and wet mop floors; uses wet floor signs to mark wet floors
• Dusts and cleans all furniture and fixtures (except smoke detectors) in resident rooms, isolation rooms, nursing stations, day rooms, and shower rooms using various cleaners and disinfectant chemicals
• Performs terminal cleaning of resident rooms upon transfer, discharge, or death
• Cleans clean and soiled utility rooms
• Shines chrome doorplates and handles at least weekly or as needed
• Fills out maintenance request slips and submits them to a supervisor
• Maintains facility appearance by dusting and cleaning furniture, fixtures, walls, baseboards, doors, ceilings, stairwells, mirrors, and removing trash in main lobby, offices, staff and resident lounges, beauty shop, resident dining rooms, housekeeping storage rooms, public restrooms, and hallways
• Washes windows in specified areas
• Cleans and polishes elevators as needed
• Performs emergency housekeeping where accidents occur
• Restocks and maintains a clear stockroom and housekeeping cart

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited high school or GED preferred
• Previous long-term care experience is desirable
