About the role

Join one of the largest post-acute health care systems across Massachusetts, committed to fulfilling the health and residential needs of the population in the communities we serve. As a Laundry Aide at Hillcrest Commons Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, you will perform day-to-day laundry functions as assigned, distribute clean laundry, ensure safety, report incidents, coordinate with nursing services, assist with department orientation training, attend meetings, and maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary work area.

Responsibilities

  • Perform day-to-day laundry functions as assigned.
  • Assure that clean laundry, linen, garments, etc., are distributed to designated areas as instructed during emergency conditions.
  • Assure that appropriate caution/safety signs are properly set up prior to performing such duties.
  • Report all accidents/incidents in a timely manner to your supervisor.
  • Cookout and luncheon events.
  • Coordinate daily laundry services with nursing services when performing routine assignments in resident living areas.
  • Aid in department orientation training for new staff.
  • Attend departmental and staff meetings.
  • Perform specific tasks in accordance with daily work assignments.
  • Follow established safety precautions when performing tasks and using equipment.
  • Ensure that assigned work areas are maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner.
  • Follow established policies governing the use of labels and MSDSs.
  • Maintain infection control policies and procedures when performing laundry procedures.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Must be able to follow directions and work independently. Must be able to communicate effectively with patients, residents, visitors, and co-workers.

Pay

Pay rate based on years of experience: $16.00 - $18.78 per hour.

Schedule

Part-time and per diem positions available.
