Lathe Operator / Setup Machinist

About the role
We are seeking Setup Level Machinists for our weekend shift, operating on a 3–12-hour schedule. This role involves setting up and operating 3-axis CNC Lathes with minimal assistance to produce complex machined aerospace parts. You may also be required to operate standard 3, 4, or 5-axis mills as needed.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate 3-axis CNC Lathes to produce aerospace parts with minimal assistance.
- Diagnose tool cutter issues related to production manufacturing.
- Maintain product quality by monitoring and adjusting CNC offsets as needed.
- Apply working knowledge of G and M codes to set and adjust offsets and interact with CNC programs.
- Read prints and apply dimensional specifications to inspection processes.
- Apply GD&T principles to ensure precision in machining.
- Work with materials including Aircraft grade Aluminum, Titanium, Stainless Steel, high-temperature alloys, and plastics.
- Visually inspect parts, troubleshoot tool degradation and breakage.
- Research, comprehend, and retain job-related information and instructions.
- Demonstrate flexibility within job disciplines and communicate effectively with trainers and co-workers.
- Work overtime as required to meet customer schedules.
- Maintain quality standards and focus on process improvements to reduce scrap.
- Lift up to 40 lbs as required by the position.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience working on CNC Lathes.
- Setup experience with Hwacheon and DMG Mori Lathes with Fanuc Controls is a plus.
- Familiarity or experience with Solidworks, HSMWorks, and Esprit CAM is a plus.
- Multi-axis Lathe with Live Tooling experience preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Good English communication skills.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
