About the role
This role involves setting up, operating, cleaning, and maintaining a wide range of machining equipment, including lathes, mills, 3-axis machines, 5-axis machines, and other equipment to produce precise parts. The position is based at ADDMAN, serving the defense, space, and commercial aerospace industries.
Responsibilities
- Ensures all equipment and forklifts are functioning correctly and safely.
- Studies blueprints and sketches to determine dimensions and machining factors.
- Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions and adjust settings as necessary.
- Confers with engineers, supervisors, and production personnel to resolve machining or assembly issues.
- Operates various machine tools and performs layouts, setups, and repairs as needed.
- Reads and records information accurately to ensure compliance with engineering specifications and standards.
- Maintains equipment and records production data, adhering to AS9100 and ISO 9000 standards.
- May provide training to other employees in the department.
- Participates in housekeeping and 5S efforts to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Requirements
- 5 years of experience in machining and quality processes.
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions from travelers and routers.
- Strong work ethic and self-motivation.
- Computer skills (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
- Knowledge of continuous improvement principles and AS9100 and ISO 9000 standards.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
- Team player and willingness to learn new skills.
Qualifications
- Physical demands include sitting, standing, reaching, lifting, and using proper lifting techniques.
- Must adhere to safety policies and procedures.
- Must be able to work in a dynamic environment with changing priorities.
- Must be able to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
