Lathe Machinist IV

About the role

This role involves setting up, operating, cleaning, and maintaining a wide range of machining equipment, including lathes, mills, 3-axis machines, 5-axis machines, and other equipment to produce precise parts. The position is based at ADDMAN, serving the defense, space, and commercial aerospace industries.

Responsibilities

• Ensures all equipment and forklifts are functioning correctly and safely.
• Studies blueprints and sketches to determine dimensions and machining factors.
• Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions and adjust settings as necessary.
• Confers with engineers, supervisors, and production personnel to resolve machining or assembly issues.
• Operates various machine tools and performs layouts, setups, and repairs as needed.
• Reads and records information accurately to ensure compliance with engineering specifications and standards.
• Maintains equipment and records production data, adhering to AS9100 and ISO 9000 standards.
• May provide training to other employees in the department.
• Participates in housekeeping and 5S efforts to maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Requirements

• 5 years of experience in machining and quality processes.
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions from travelers and routers.
• Strong work ethic and self-motivation.
• Computer skills (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
• Knowledge of continuous improvement principles and AS9100 and ISO 9000 standards.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Team player and willingness to learn new skills.
