Lathe Machinist, CNC Live Tooling
About the role
This position is located on-site in Mount Vernon, Washington State. The Lathe Machinist is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC and manual lathes to machine precision components. This role requires attention to detail, a strong understanding of turning operations, and the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Responsibilities
- Attention to detail and quality is required
- Reads and understands blueprints, isometric drawings, and work orders
- Receives and carries out directions from designated Supervisors and Production Leads
- Must be able to understand and comply with Safety Practices
- Identifies and obtains equipment, tools and materials needed to properly perform job function
- Set up scaffolding and safety barriers under direction
- Properly executes Hazardous Material Disposal activities
- Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly, FOD free condition
- Knowledge and use of common hand tools
- Accurate use of precision measuring instruments (ie: micrometers, calipers, etc,) and working to exacting tolerances
- Understands and complies with Safety and 5S
- Understands and complies with AS9100 and Nadcap Practices and Procedures as applicable
- Works in other Cells to support Production as required, ie; Metal Fab or Mill Cell
- CNC Mill and Manual Mill set up, operation and maintenance
- CNC Lathe and Manual Lathe set up, operation and maintenance
- Mill/Lathe Operation, includes Tooling knowledge, Calibrated equipment, machine operation, part loading and clamping, machine maintenance
- CNC editing on the shop floor
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED required, college level or trade school education preferred
- 1 year of machining experience required
- Must have effective verbal and written communication skills
Special Information
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). Janicki will assist with gaining this access once employed. Special Access Program or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position and requires candidate agreed to enter a Continuous Evaluation program.
Additional Information
The wage range for this role is between $22 - $45 an hour plus a discretionary bonus, 401(k) matching, vacation, and health benefits. Employees can also receive additional pay for off-shifts, off-site work, and access pay.
