About the role
For over a half-century, INSCO Corporation has been a trusted, one-stop source for world-class precision gears and value-added assemblies. We are investing in our facility and looking for an experienced, self-sufficient CNC Lathe Machinist to join our Groton team.
Responsibilities
- Set Up, Program, & Run: Independently operate our fleet of 2-axis CNC Lathes: Doosan Puma VTL (Fanuc Series 0i control), SMEC SL 3500L (Fanuc Series 0i-TF control), Nakamura-Tome TMC300 (Fanuc Series 16-T control)
- Precision Operations: Perform turning, facing, boring, grooving, drilling, and threading
- Hard Turning: Execute hard turning operations utilizing CBN tooling
- Quality Control: Consistently hold and verify tight tolerances of +/- .0005”
- Software & Editing: Use Surfcam CAM software and Predator DNC editor, alongside making direct G-code edits at the Fanuc controls
Requirements
- Experience: 3+ years of proven experience setting up, programming, and operating CNC Lathes in a precision machining environment
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency with Fanuc controls (Series 0i, 0i-TF, 16-T) and standard G-Code programming
- Blueprint Reading: Expert ability to read, interpret, and work independently directly from manufacturing prints and engineering drawings
- Software: Experience with CAM software (Surfcam highly preferred) and DNC editors (Predator)
- Autonomy: A self-starter who can troubleshoot issues and run semi-complex parts without constant supervision
