Salary: $86,859.95 – $114,003.97 (starting pay commensurate with the candidate’s years of experience; eight (8) years of full‑time police officer experience is required to reach the maximum pay). Current contract expires 4/30/27.

Minimum Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license
• Vision correctable to 20/20 in both eyes
• Pass a medical exam, including drug screening
• Successfully completed two (2) years of continuous full‑time law‑enforcement employment in a municipal, county, university, or state agency
• In good standing with the current police department (no adverse employment actions)
• Possess substantially equivalent skills and abilities as a Village of Cary Police Officer who has completed their probationary period, as determined by the Village
• Pass any examinations the Commission deems necessary for fitness for duty (certified‑entry candidates may be evaluated through background investigation, oral interview, polygraph, psychological assessment, physical‑agility test, and medical examination)
