Evergreen Park Police Department is accepting lateral police officer applications. Immediate openings are available. The department is a member of the 5th District SWAT Team.

Requirements

• Current, non‑probationary, full‑time sworn municipal police officer, State Police officer, County Sheriff’s Deputy, or college/university police officer with a Law Enforcement Officer Certification from the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board (certified corrections officers are not eligible)
• Minimum of 2 years of police service by the application deadline and currently in good standing with no adverse employment actions
• U.S. citizen or legal resident at the time of application deadline
• At least 22 years old at original appointment and under 40 years old at application deadline
• High school diploma or GED
• Valid Illinois driver’s license
• Eligible to obtain an Illinois Firearm Owners Identification (FOID) card
• No lateral hire application with Evergreen Park PD in the past 12 months
• Fluent English (speak, read, write)
• Minimum 20/70 uncorrected vision, correctable to 20/20 in each eye, with normal color and depth perception
• Must reside within a 35‑mile radius of the village center (W. 95th St. & S. Kedzie Ave.) within 24 months of hire date
• Pass all stages of the hiring process

Pay

Starting salary: $97,816.88 for officers with two (2) years experience; $105,603.60 for officers with three (3) or more years experience.

Benefits

• 80 hours of annual holiday pay
• Time and a half pay for holidays worked
• 32 hours of annual comp time

Schedule

Twelve (12) hour shifts.
