About the role
The Lane County Sheriff’s Office is seeking lateral patrol deputies with DPSST Patrol Certification. The position requires at least two years of law enforcement patrol experience at the time of hire.
Responsibilities
- Provide patrol services in urban, suburban, and rural areas, including timberlands, waterways, and coastal dune areas.
- Engage in special assignments such as dunes patrol, timber patrol, marine patrol, contract cities, criminal patrol/investigations, and detective work.
- Work all days and shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Overtime may be required.
Requirements
- Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade.
- Two years of experience dealing with the public.
- Licenses: Current Oregon driver's license and basic corrections and peace officer certification with the State of Oregon.

Skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle stressful situations and maintain composure.
- Proficiency in computer systems and law enforcement software.
