Lateral Pay Matrix
- 2 years: $88,671.16
- 3 years: $93,364.50
- 4 years: $98,111.85
- 5+ years: $102,859.19
Essential Duties
- Adhere to policy, procedures, and post orders
- Protect life and property; prevent crimes; apprehend criminals
- Answer calls for service; complete appropriate paperwork; testify in court
- Resolve conflict; complete required training
- Communicate clearly with citizens and other law enforcement professionals; dispense information
- Enforce Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations
- Patrol assigned area to enforce laws, investigate crimes, and arrest violators
- Conduct preliminary investigation at crime scenes; administer first aid; gather evidence
- Establish traffic control and Deputy protection at incidents that may attract crowds
- Serve civil papers, court documents, and subpoenas
- Participate and complete annual law enforcement driving certification
- Participate in training (Quarterly Range Qualification, PPCT, Taser, OC Re-Certification)
- Perform Deputy duties at parades, processions, demonstrations, community activities, and sporting events
- Check and report on deficient streetlights, signs, road surfaces and other facilities that serve the public
- Perform other duties that are assigned
Shift Schedule
- Mandatory shift rotation every 4 months
- 10-hour shifts:
- Day Shift: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Swing Shift: 4:00 PM – 2:00 AM
- Graveyard Shift: 9:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Minimum Qualifications
- Currently Colorado P.O.S.T. Certified
- At least 2 years of patrol experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Colorado Driver's License
Testing Process
- Written exam through National Testing Network (minimum 70% required in Video, Written, and Reading sections)
- Oral Board Interview
- Physical Fitness Test Battery (detailed email sent to eligible candidates closer to testing date)
