About the role
Performs a wide range of working level professional law enforcement duties related to operating the Washington County Jail including safety, supervision, booking, release, and inmate programs.
Schedule
Various/shift work to include holidays, nights and weekends.
Pay
Lateral starting pay $31.21 to $44.77 per hour, DOE.

Requirements
- Graduation from high school or GED
- Valid Utah driver’s license
- At least 21 years of age
- At least 1 year of previous corrections officer experience as a Utah POST-certified BCO and either currently working in this capacity or employed in this capacity within the 12 months prior to the date of application
- Out-of-state POST BCO/corrections-certified officers encouraged to apply but must contact Utah POST to confirm eligibility to challenge the Utah BCO certification process
Qualifications
Candidates must successfully complete all stages of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office testing process, including but not limited to:
- Physical Agility Test at POST BCO Entrance Standard
- Background investigation
- Computer Voice Stress Analysis (CVSA)
- Interview
- Chemical screening
