Job Responsibilities

  • Prepares and codes operations, tooling identification, indexing sequences, speeds, and feeds.
  • Develops efficient tool paths for various machining operations.
  • Creates, modifies, and optimizes manufacturing programs using CAM software to manufacture parts according to engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Verifies programs are correct and efficient, with the help of machine operators.
  • Prepares instruction sheets.
  • Organizes and maintains detailed records.
  • Modifies and adjusts programs and instructions to incorporate engineering changes as required.
  • Analyzes and resolves programming issues that arise during the machining process to ensure product quality.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Skills

  • Foundational understanding of machining processes, materials, and tooling.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and models.
  • Knowledge of CNC machine operations, including setup and troubleshooting.
  • Solid problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • One year of training or experience in machine programming.
