CNC Programmer

Primus Aerospace is a leading manufacturing partner to aerospace, defense, and space OEMs and Tier I suppliers, specializing in high-tolerance, complex geometry components from standard and exotic metals for mission-critical civilian and defense programs.

About the role

The CNC Programmer develops, optimizes, and maintains CNC programs to meet established standards of quality, productivity, and delivery within the assigned work cell.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and optimize CNC programs for 3, 4, and 5-axis mills and CNC lathes
• Take full responsibility for CNC programming and process execution for assigned parts and equipment
• Improve manufacturing processes through tooling recommendations, fixture design, and cycle time optimization
• Collaborate with machinists, operators, and cross-functional teams to ensure efficient and accurate production
• Support new product introduction (NPI) and maintain high standards on repeat production work
• Ensure all programs and processes meet quality requirements, including GD&T standards
• Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities to enhance quality, efficiency, and throughput
• Maintain accurate documentation including work instructions and program revisions
• Adhere to all safety, quality, and operational procedures

Requirements

• Minimum of five (5) years of CNC programming experience (mills and/or lathes)
• Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint reading
• Experience with multi-axis machining (3, 4, and/or 5-axis)
• Proficiency with CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, NX, or similar) preferred
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Strong work ethic and commitment to quality and continuous improvement
• To comply with U.S. Government international trade regulations (ITAR), applicants must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Person as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15

Pay

$40.00 – $50.00 per hour, depending on experience
