About the Role

We are seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to assess and maintain our CNC equipment. In this role, you will read and interpret technical blueprints, input design specifications, adjust machine cutting paths, and perform quality checks on final products. You may also conduct routine machine maintenance and troubleshoot issues during manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Create CNC machine programs for production, including setup, qualification, and ensuring part conformance on various 5-axis CNC machines.
• Prepare sequence logic for machining operations necessary for setup and production.
• Assist in the concept design of required tools and gages; support improvements to existing tools and fixtures.
• Demonstrate a thorough understanding of G and M coding.
• Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and tool path applications for operations.
• Troubleshoot non-conformances derived from programming errors.
• Train setup technicians and new staff on machine operation procedures.
• Read and interpret technical blueprints and design models.
• Load raw materials into CNC machines and input product designs into computer modeling software.
• Adjust machine settings to meet product specifications.
• Perform quality control tests during manufacturing and on final products.
• Maintain and clean CNC machines.

Requirements

• High school diploma and a two-year technical trade degree or completion of a machinist apprenticeship program (OJT may be acceptable).
• Minimum of 7 years’ experience programming, setting up, and operating 5-axis CNC equipment.
• Fluency in English with strong speaking, reading, writing, and comprehension skills.
• US work authorization (no visa sponsorship available).
• Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Preferred Qualifications

• 10 years of experience in CNC multi-axis machining, including application of proper machining strategies and techniques with superalloys, steel, stainless steel, and forgings.
• Post-processor editing and macro programming.
• CNC programming and setup experience with:
  • 5-axis vertical mill (trunnion-style table).
  • 5-axis vertical mill-turn.
  • 5+ axis profile grinders.
  • 5-axis water jet.
  • 5-axis wire EDM.
• Familiarity with machine probing and programming, Vericut, and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
