About the role
Join our Aerospace, Defense & Prototype team in Sterling Heights, where precision matters and every part supports critical programs in aviation, aerospace, and defense. We deliver advanced metal forming and prototype solutions from early concept validation through production-ready components. This work supports programs requiring tight tolerances, complex geometries, and accelerated development timelines. As a Laser Operator, you’ll play a key role in producing high-quality precision parts that directly support these demanding industries.
Responsibilities
- Set up, calibrate, and operate laser cutting equipment (5 axis machines)
- Select and load correct materials for each job
- Program machines for cutting and engraving operations
- Read and interpret blueprints and job orders
- Inspect finished parts to ensure quality standards and specifications are met
- Monitor laser operations and troubleshoot issues as needed
- Perform routine maintenance on laser equipment and systems
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Laser Operator
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to read and interpret technical blueprints and job orders
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Strong problem-solving skills and a team-oriented mindset
