Large Machinist (3rd shift)

Cincinnati Incorporated is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our manufacturing team and help produce the large, precision-machined components that power our industry-leading equipment. In this role, you'll set up and operate 3- and 5-axis machining centers, work from detailed engineering drawings, perform program edits, and machine complex parts to exact specifications. Our CNC Machinists enjoy working with advanced machining centers, precision measuring instruments, tooling systems, overhead cranes, and large-scale workpieces. Responsibilities

• Receive work assignment, secure drawings, set-up sketch, programs, and tool list
• Use crane and lifting devices to place workpiece on machine table, rotary table, auxiliary table, floor plate and/or set-up fixtures making close measurements at multiple locations to level and align work (may be difficult at times due to irregular shape of part)
• Install program and appropriate tools. After engaging power, adjust coolant and observe entire operation, checking dimensions and adjusting as needed
• Report program errors or malfunctions, edit programs as needed
• Set and utilize instruments to check tool settings for proper cutting dimensions, adjust settings as necessary
• Continually check fixtures and holding devices for setups to assure proper working conditions. Store tools and maintain necessary tool records
• Perform simple layout work when required, using templates or by calculations, measuring and marking surfaces for machining
• Perform very close machining operations such as drilling, boring, reaming, facing, milling, on parts such as shear housing, tables, rams, hold down beams, beds, brake housings, rams, beds, etc.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area and perform all assignments in a safe manner and in accordance with established quality procedures

Qualifications

• High School diploma or certificate of equivalency
• 2 years prior machining center experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical school certificate or degree
• Programming skills

Tools, Technology and Equipment Used

• CNC Machining Center, rotary table, remote overhead crane and hoist, various cutting tools, clamps, fixtures, lifters, tooling, tool setting instruments, micrometers, gauges, and measuring tools

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Regularly required to stand
• Requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, reaching with hands and arms and climbing ladders
• Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and to climb or balance
• Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration
• Occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions
• Noise level can be loud at times
• Must regularly lift, move, and carry up to 50 pounds
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus

Schedule

• Third Shift starts at 10:00pm or 11:00pm (Optional Year Round)
• There will be a training/assessment period on first shift until you and the company are comfortable. First Shift starts at 6 or 7am.
