Large Loss Property Adjuster – Field Estimating - Grand Rapids, MI

About the role
As a Large Loss Field Property Adjuster, you will provide exceptional service to our policyholders. Your primary responsibility will involve traveling to customers' homes to conduct on-site inspections, investigate coverage, prepare estimates, and settle claims promptly and efficiently. Additionally, you will handle virtual claims countrywide, leveraging platforms and software such as Xactimate and ClaimsX Video Collaboration. Your expertise will focus on water losses, ensuring customers receive high-level support and resolution for these claims.
Responsibilities
- Live into Allstate’s Claims Culture by caring, empowering, and restoring through compassionate, clear, and committed partnership in each claim.
- Investigate property claims by performing detailed reviews of damage and interpreting policies to determine coverage.
- Communicate with customers via phone, email, and video chat to guide them through a fast, fair, and easy claims process, incorporating their preferred communication methods.
- Evaluate and negotiate claims settlements with customers, vendors, third-party carriers, and claimants, adhering to legal and business standards.
- Utilize tools such as Xactimate, job aids, and settlement platforms to solve problems in a fast-paced environment.
- Protect the company financially by executing policies according to agreements and maintaining clear, timely, and accurate documentation in the claims system.
Requirements
- 4 years’ experience as an outside adjuster is highly desired.
- Experience handling claims with multiple trades and losses over $100,000.
- Proficiency in Xactimate and other relevant estimating software.
- Strong critical thinking and technical skills to assess damages accurately and expedite settlements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for exceptional customer service.
- Ability to travel to customers' homes and handle virtual claims countrywide.
- Detail-oriented and organized, with a focus on delivering high-quality work.
- Residency within Grand Rapids, MI is mandatory.
- Must be able to carry a 50-pound ladder and access roofs with up to a 6/12 pitch.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as required.
- If currently holding an active insurance license, must terminate all existing appointments prior to onboarding and not hold any outside appointments during employment.
- Applicants with a resident producer license must formally surrender that license when instructed.
Training
The training program builds a claims foundation and covers systems and processes for daily work. Ongoing training opportunities for continuous improvement occur regularly on the job. You will attend approximately 2 weeks of training in Dallas, TX.
As a condition of employment, you may be required to obtain an adjuster and/or appraiser license, including passing an additional background check. If applicable, you must secure the license(s) within 60 days of hire.

- This role may qualify for a company car based on annual work mileage. Personal vehicle usage is reimbursed until guidelines are met.
Pay
Compensation ranges from $72,000 to $115,245 annually, based on experience, qualifications, location, and internal equity.
