Large Animal Veterinary Technician (ANML HEALTH TCHN 2 VMTH)

Patient Care and Technical Support

• Provide routine and intensive nursing care in the Large Animal ICU, NICU and Isolation units.
• Perform patient monitoring, treatments, basic laboratory tests, maintain unit readiness, restock supplies.
• Maintain infectious disease control and sanitation according to Large Animal Clinic protocols.

Nursing and Technical Duties for Other Large Animal Services

• Provide technical support to other Large Animal Clinic services.

Infectious Disease Control and Sanitation

• Follow Large Animal Clinic protocols for infectious disease control and sanitation.

Department Overview

The Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital (VMTH) provides clinical case material in support of the teaching programs throughout the School of Veterinary Medicine on a 24-hour basis. Its primary objectives are to train professional (veterinary) students, graduate clinical students (interns and residents), and graduate academic students; to provide veterinary services to the public; to serve as a referral center for practicing veterinarians, and to advance veterinary medical knowledge.
