About the Role

The Landscape Production Manager must be thoroughly familiar with and able to perform all aspects of landscape, hardscape, and irrigation construction to include: estimating, production, scheduling, customer service, and training. This role directly oversees Crew Leaders and the installation of landscape, hardscape, and irrigation projects on a daily basis while interfacing with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers. The Landscape Production Manager keeps the Department Manager apprised of progress (or lack thereof) on all jobs and coordinates with them accordingly.

Responsibilities

• Continually inform and update the company Vice President on job progress (or lack thereof).
• Coordinate with company Crew Leaders regarding job progress (or lack thereof).
• Oversee the production of several jobs simultaneously.
• Ensure jobs are kept on schedule and on budget.
• Ensure all safety procedures are followed and report any unsafe conditions to supervisors.
• Ensure all accidents are properly documented and reported immediately.
• Interface with subcontractors to ensure timely and accurate completion of their phase of projects.
• Interface with suppliers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of job materials.
• Ensure company production standards are met.
• Ensure all equipment is operated in a safe and proper manner.
• Ensure all equipment is maintained properly and preventatively maintained (PM'd) daily.
• Evaluate equipment utilization and recommend future purchases to the Vice President.
• Ensure job cost reports are properly analyzed and disseminated to Crew Leaders.
• Thoroughly understand and comply with company policies, procedures, and SOPs.
• Assist in the development and implementation of the production part of the company’s strategic plan.
• Assist in the development, implementation, and achievement of the company’s annual budget goals.
• Assist in the development and implementation of the production part of the company’s training goals.
• Develop training plans and train field crews.
• Evaluate the performance of crew leaders and crew members.
• Supervise crews doing landscape, hardscape, and irrigation construction with high energy.
• Maintain organization in all areas (personal office space, field operations, company yard space, job sites, etc.).
• Lead by example.
• Present yourself in a professional manner.
• Initiate action when needed.
• Be self-motivated and require minimal supervision.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• 3+ years of prior experience in landscape, hardscape, and irrigation construction.
• Possess a valid Driver’s License with a clean history.
• Successful background check.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in severe weather conditions, both hot and cold.
• Ability to stand and exert physical effort performing manual labor 50-70% of the time.
• Able to tolerate exposure to moderate noise levels.
