Primary Responsibilities
- Work with the landscaping team in daily tasks.
- Absorb workload during scheduled or unscheduled absences.
- Assist with equipment maintenance and repairs.
- Coordinate with the Landscape Manager and Landscape Tech Lead for deliveries.
- Follow proper training and best practices in equipment use, maintenance, and daily tasks.
- Perform grounds keeping and building maintenance duties as required.
- Mow lawns either by hand or using a riding lawnmower when needed.
- Recommend and implement specific plants, trees, grass, or other landscape features based on local conditions.
- Landscape by planting, trimming, and maintaining flower beds, grass, shrubs, bushes, and small trees.
- Shovel snow from walkways and apply anti-skid as needed.
- Clean parking lots, sidewalks, and all exterior areas while performing routine grounds keeping.
- Perform spring and fall cleanups to remove excess debris, leaves, and trim landscaping.
- Install new hardscaping, river rock, fencing, signage, and other furnishings as required.
- Pressure wash building exteriors and refresh parking lot painting as needed.
- Clean gutters and roof drains of debris.
- Perform minor repairs and maintenance procedures on equipment utilized in grounds keeping.
- Ensure all tools, equipment, and vehicles are maintained and utilized in a safe manner consistent with established standards.
- Close out work orders upon completion via iPad or Computerized Maintenance Management System.
- Respond to emergency and non-emergency service requests and prioritize work order response.
- Communicate in a pleasant and professional manner with internal and external customers.
Minimum Qualifications
- 1 or more years of experience in landscape maintenance required, including zero turn mowers.
- Ability to travel using a company sanctioned vehicle as required.
- Demonstrated experience to successfully complete multiple tasks independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to plan and prioritize daily responsibilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills along with proven positive customer service experience.
- Intermediate or higher-level expertise using iPad, smartphones, computers/laptops, and MS Office applications including MS Excel, Word, Outlook.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. without any accommodation or assistance and comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions at varying heights.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated job stability.
- Prior commercial landscape work experience.
Education, Licensures, & Certifications
- A High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
- A valid active State Driver’s License required.
- OSHA or Landscape related certifications preferred.
Hours & Work Schedule
- Hours per Week: 40 hrs./week.
- Work Schedule: M-F 7:00am - 4:00 pm ET.
- May include occasional voluntary OT evenings or weekends.
Location
- Territory includes: Fall River, MA; New Bedford, MA, Dartmouth, MA and 5 branches on Cape Cod, MA.
Pay Transparency
- The salary range for this position is $24 - $27 per hour.
- Actual pay is based on various factors including but not limited to the work location, and relevant skills and experience.
