Landscape Grounds Worker

About the role

Our Maintenance Worker is responsible for performing a wide variety of maintenance tasks associated with the care of cemetery grounds and facilities. This position will work under direct supervision, individually, or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform general grounds clean-up and trash disposal.
• Clean and maintain storm drains.
• Repair lawn damage.
• Mow section and garden lawns.
• Trim memorial tablets.
• Replant landscapes.
• Apply landscape chemicals, such as fertilizers, wetting agents, and herbicides.
• Assist client families and other guests with grounds maintenance requests.
• Operate specialized equipment to move materials.
• Assist with completing interments.
• Assist with setup and cleanup before and after special events.
• Install tents for funeral services.

Requirements

• Minimum of six months of experience in a maintenance position.
• Valid California Driver’s License.
• Ability to lift up to 100 lbs.
• Caring and professional demeanor with a desire to assist families during a difficult time.
• Ability to work weekends and holidays.
• High school diploma or GED certificate.
• Ability to work on-site.
