About the role

MasterScapes is looking for a strong business development professional to help grow our Wichita Falls market. This role is for someone who knows how to create opportunity, build trust, and turn relationships into revenue. The person in this seat will be expected to win new annual maintenance clients, grow existing relationships through enhancements and added services, and close project work that helps strengthen the branch. This is not a passive account-management role—it is a growth role for someone who is proactive, disciplined, and confident leading sales conversations from first contact through close.

MasterScapes offers the chance to help grow a market with the backing of an established company. Founded in 1992, we have spent more than three decades building a strong reputation as a full-service landscape company in Texas. With an established team, multiple markets, and the infrastructure to support continued growth, MasterScapes brings real stability to Wichita Falls along with real opportunity.

This role is expected to operate with roughly a 70/30 split: about 70% focused on new business development and about 30% focused on existing account growth, renewals, and client ownership. You will report to the VP of Sales and work closely with the Wichita Falls General Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Win new annual maintenance accounts in the Wichita Falls market
  • Build and maintain a self-generated pipeline
  • Grow revenue within the existing client portfolio
  • Lead renewals and ongoing client relationships
  • Identify and close enhancement opportunities within existing accounts
  • Sell project work to both existing clients and prospective clients
  • Help improve underperforming accounts through better scope, pricing, and client alignment
  • Work closely with local operations leadership to ensure commitments are realistic and executable
  • Spend time prospecting, meeting decision-makers, walking properties, following up on opportunities, reviewing account health, and coordinating closely with leadership

What success looks like

  • You create new business instead of waiting for it to come to you
  • Annual maintenance sales are growing
  • Enhancement and project opportunities are being identified and closed consistently
  • Your pipeline stays active, current, and moving
  • Follow-up happens with urgency and consistency
  • Renewals are handled well and relationships stay strong
  • Existing accounts grow in value and improve in quality
  • You help drive profitable branch growth across multiple revenue streams

Requirements

  • Proven success in business development, outside sales, account growth, or a similar revenue-producing role
  • Strong sales drive and comfort owning growth expectations
  • The ability to self-generate pipeline
  • Strong follow-up discipline and urgency
  • Enough landscape industry knowledge to credibly identify, scope, and sell a wide range of maintenance, enhancement, and project opportunities
  • Confidence in prospecting, client conversations, proposal follow-up, negotiation, and closing
  • Strong organization and communication
  • The ability to work well with both sales leadership and operations
  • Comfort with CRM and business systems such as Pipedrive and Aspire, or the ability to learn them quickly

Who will thrive here

You’ll likely thrive in this role if you are:

  • Disciplined
  • Persistent
  • Self-starting
  • Organized
  • Resilient
  • Competitive in a healthy way
  • Motivated by growth, accountability, and building something meaningful
