LANDFILL GATEKEEPER - STARTING PAY: $19.99 - $22.06 PER HOUR DOE

About the role

This position works primarily in the gatehouse at the Sandpoint Landfill located twelve miles east of Carlsbad on Highway 62/180.

Responsibilities

• Answering phone calls and directing public to proper sources of information
• Being the initial point of contact for the public at the landfill
• Maintaining all records required for the operation and compliance of the landfill
• Operating scales and generating accurate scale tickets
• Receiving and accounting for payments of tipping fees
• Reconciling employee records, timesheets, purchase orders, work schedules, inventory control, and deposits
• Composing memos, directives, and letters as required to maintain clean and safe working conditions that include cleaning of the gatehouse
• Working as part of a select team, although not always physically present with the members of that team
• Working irregular hours, attending job-related meetings, and performing other duties as assigned

Requirements

Equal authority to direct work schedule from the Road Manager Carlsbad, Road Manager Artesia, and Sandpoint Landfill Manager at any time.
