Landfill Field Technician

About the role

As a Landfill CQA Technician for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC), you'll work in the Waste Management practice in our Monroeville, PA office. This is a full-time position with the responsibility of performing Construction Quality Assurance (CQA) services to observe, document and monitor construction activities associated with landfill construction.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate whether construction meets governing project specifications and regulatory permit conditions
• Perform field testing of various construction materials
• Secure samples of materials for laboratory testing to confirm compliance with project specifications
• Work closely with the CEC project manager to prepare the as-built documentation needed to certify completed work
• Travel and out-of-town work may be required periodically based on project needs

Requirements

• Experience with landfill Construction Quality Assurance (CQA) or other related fields of construction and CQA services
• Experience with testing and monitoring soil materials, geosynthetic materials, pipe, and concrete
• Ability to work independently in the field in varying weather and site conditions
• Ability to exert physical effort in handling objects up to 50 pounds on occasion
• Ability to traverse uneven surfaces
• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive a company pickup truck
• Interest in working at a variety of construction project sites
• Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
