About the role
The Land Surveyor in Training will assist the Professional Land Surveyor with various tasks related to land surveying projects. This role offers opportunities to gain hands-on experience across multiple project types.
Responsibilities
- Perform thorough research of land records using government offices and online resources.
- Complete boundary calculations using fundamental surveying principles to establish property, right-of-way, and easement lines.
- Prepare land survey documents including boundary retracement surveys, plats of survey, ALTA surveys, topographical surveys, easement/acquisition plats, final plats, and associated legal descriptions.
- Ensure survey documents comply with applicable state and local ordinances.
- Review titles and abstracts.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- LSIT Certification or actively working toward certification.
- Associate degree or higher in Surveying, Mathematics, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- Understanding of coordinate systems and vertical datums.
Qualifications
- Experience with land surveying software.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
