Land Survey Technician - Early Career

About the role

This is a Full Time Early Career position assisting in Land Surveying duties including but not limited to: boundary surveys, topographic field data collection, construction staking on a variety of projects. May include onsite survey support for larger projects.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a current driver’s license in good standing and able to operate company owned vehicles.
  • Outdoor work in all weather conditions.
  • Willingness to work overtime when needed.
  • Familiarity and willingness to learn computer software (Auto CADD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center).
  • OSHA 10 certification.
  • Responsibility to fly and maintain proper safety procedures with drones (not required but encouraged).
  • Ability to read and understand construction plans.
  • Work in a team environment but also willing to work independently.
  • Follow required safety practices for Land Surveying duties and or site-specific safety procedures and regulations.
  • Responsible for quality and accuracy of field work performed.

Requirements

  • 0-3 years of experience as a Survey crew member or a new graduate with a technical degree in Surveying or Civil Design preferred but not required.
  • Ability to operate and maintain Trimble survey equipment including but not limited to robotic total stations, GPS survey equipment, data collection equipment, Automatic levels (preferred but not required).
  • Open and willing to perform some overnight-stay travel for work when needed.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to Survey team needs with workload.
  • Perform office functions including but not limited to, boundary research, use of Auto CADD Civil 3D for TOPO/as-built files and creation of staking coordinates.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and PDF programs.
  • FAA part 107 for unmanned aircraft use (not required but encouraged).

Hardworking, Adaptive, Self Motivated, Willingness to learn workflows and processes, Outdoor work in all environments, Ability to learn and utilize Trimble survey equipment and reality capture equipment.
