Land Survey Technician

Responsibilities

• Assist in conducting boundary, topographic, and construction surveys
• Operate total stations, GPS systems, and data collectors; set up and manage GPS for survey control; and collect accurate field measurements while ensuring proper equipment use
• Prepare maps, plots, and legal descriptions
• Perform calculations and data adjustments for accuracy and consistency
• Complete construction layout and staking for engineering projects
• Collaborate with surveyors, engineers, and technicians to meet project deadlines
• Maintain and organize survey equipment and vehicles

Qualifications & Skills

• A high school diploma or equivalent; an associate's degree or technical training in surveying is preferred
• 1–2 years of experience in land surveying or a related field is preferred
• Proficiency with survey equipment (Trimble GPS, total stations, data collectors) is preferred
• Knowledge of surveying principles and practices is preferred
• Experience with Civil 3D, CAD, and Pix4D software is a plus
• Strong mathematical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• A valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Good communication and teamwork abilities
