Land Survey Technician
Goals & Responsibilities
- Aid in conducting boundary, topographic, and construction surveys.
- Operate total stations, GPS systems, and data collectors; set up and manage GPS for survey control; and collect accurate field measurements while ensuring proper equipment use.
- Prepare maps, plots, and legal descriptions.
- Perform calculations and data adjustments for accuracy and consistency.
- Complete construction layout and staking for engineering projects.
- Collaborate with surveyors, engineers, and technicians to meet project deadlines.
- Maintain and organize survey equipment and vehicles.
Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree or technical training in surveying preferred.
- 1–2 years of experience in land surveying or related field preferred.
- Proficiency with survey equipment (Trimble GPS, total stations, data collectors) preferred.
- Knowledge of surveying principles and practices preferred.
- Experience with Civil 3D, CAD, and Pix4D software is a plus.
- Strong mathematical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
