About the role
This position is posted until filled. It can sit out of multiple locations, including TX CityLewisville.
Responsibilities
- Performs technical research and analysis; prepares and evaluates reports related to land use, zoning, permits, and regulatory issues and projects
- Prepares and delivers presentations to the public, advocacy groups, business community, and local, state, and federal officials
- Participates in technical and advisory committees, working groups, and task forces as appropriate
- Maintains current knowledge concerning local, state, and federal land use planning and development requirements and processes
- Serves as a liaison between utility companies, landowners, contractors, and government agencies
- Oversees thorough and accurate title and property searches
- Reviews, produces, and obtains high quality easements, ROW documents, letters, and other written materials
- Interprets and assists in the production of engineering surveys, and legal documents related to ROW acquisition
- Presents findings and makes recommendations to management
Qualifications
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree in a related field with five to seven years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Advanced listening, observation, and organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize, schedule, organize, focus on, and complete work
- Ability to make sound judgments and crucial decisions in short amounts of time
- Ability to understand and assimilate complex technical information
- Ability to research independently
- Ability to demonstrate advanced interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain positive and productive working relationships with various individuals and groups
Skills
- Knowledge of land use and zoning regulations, permitting processes, public policy, smart growth, and other planning techniques and strategies
- Advanced computer skills and ability to navigate in and effectively use GIS/ArcView/Landworks/Google Earth/MSOffice Tools
- Ability to apply the concepts of fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
- Ability to define problems, collect data, analyze alternatives, and reason
