Land Services Agent I-Sr

Responsibilities

• Performs technical research and analysis; prepares and evaluates reports related to land use, zoning, permits, and regulatory issues and projects
• Prepares and delivers presentations to the public, advocacy groups, business community, and local, state, and federal officials
• Participates in technical and advisory committees, working groups, and task forces as appropriate
• Maintains current knowledge concerning local, state, and federal land use planning and development requirements and processes
• Serves as a liaison between utility companies, landowners, contractors, and government agencies
• Oversees thorough and accurate title and property searches
• Reviews, produces, and obtains high quality easements, ROW documents, letters, and other written materials
• Interprets and assists in the production of engineering surveys, and legal documents related to ROW acquisition
• Presents findings and makes recommendations to management

Qualifications

• Minimum of a bachelor's degree in a related field with five to seven years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Advanced listening, observation, and organizational skills
• Ability to prioritize, schedule, organize, focus on, and complete work
• Ability to make sound judgments and crucial decisions in short amounts of time
• Ability to understand and assimilate complex technical information
• Ability to research independently
• Ability to demonstrate advanced interpersonal skills
• Ability to maintain positive and productive working relationships with various individuals and groups

Skills

• Knowledge of land use and zoning regulations, permitting processes, public policy, smart growth, and other planning techniques and strategies
• Advanced computer skills and ability to navigate in and effectively use GIS/ArcView/Landworks/Google Earth/MSOffice Tools
• Ability to apply the concepts of fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
• Ability to define problems, collect data, analyze alternatives, and reason
