Responsibilities

  • Process requests for parcel division, combination, platting, and addition of new parcels.
  • Create and maintain property legal descriptions and boundary maps; assign parcel identification numbers; enter data; maintain tax parcel description database; monitor workflows.
  • Process continuous mailing of homestead applications; verify data for new or renewed homesteads; prepare corrections; maintain parcel groups.
  • Process Certificate of Real Estate Values (CRVs) for reporting of sales to the Department of Revenue.
  • Maintain mobile home sale information files; coordinate ownership verification with park managers; analyze sales data; process and monitor permits; respond to requests for value and assessment information.
  • Interpret, explain, and answer questions about policies, regulations, and operating procedures; train staff.
  • Compile data, verify accuracy, and create various assessment reports.
  • Research public records for ownership of property and transfer history on individual parcels of real estate.
  • Recommend improvements to system and business processes; assist with testing and training of systems; create and maintain process and workflow documentation.
  • Assist the public at the front counter and over the telephone; process property sales records, transfers, requests for abatement, and assessment changes.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree from an accredited college in real estate, public administration, business administration, or related field and two (2) years of experience in a similar position.
  • OR a combination of education and experience equivalent to four (4) years of experience in a similar position.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Valid driver's license and free of any major traffic violations for the last three (3) years (required for use of County vehicles and equipment).

  • Knowledge of legal and technical forms and terminology.
  • Knowledge of surveying principles and methodology.

  • Skill in reading legal descriptions, plats, maps, legal contracts, and mortgages.
  • Ability to make decisions in accordance with laws and policies.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to maintain and revise records.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Ability to make scale drawings of buildings and calculate land area.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and organize work.
  • Ability to write and interpret complex land parcel descriptions.
  • Ability to maintain the confidentiality of data.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Primarily office environment with occasional outdoor work.
  • Sitting, standing, walking, reaching, pulling, stooping, and handling required.
  • Repetitive hand movements, typing/data entry, talking, and hearing.
  • Close vision, field of vision, color vision, and depth perception required.
  • Sedentary to light effort (exert up to 20 pounds of force).

Benefits

  • Paid Time Off (PTO): Employees over 0.5 FTE accrue PTO based on length of service:
    • 1–5 years: up to 23 days
    • 6–10 years: up to 25 days
    • 11–15 years: up to 27.5 days
    • 16–20 years: up to 30 days
    • 21–26 years: up to 32.5 days
    • Over 26 years: up to 35 days
    PTO accrues from the first day of work and can be used as soon as accrued with supervisor approval.
  • Flexible Time Leave (FTL): Up to 28 hours (prorated by FTE) of paid FTL per calendar year, based on hire date.
  • Paid Holidays: New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, President's Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veteran's Day, Thanksgiving Day, Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve (4 hours when December 24th falls on a Monday–Thursday), Christmas Day.
  • Health Insurance: Self-insured plan administered by Medica. Comprehensive coverage including preventive care, 80% co-insurance on most services (after deductible), and access to Nice Healthcare (no-cost virtual and in-home appointments, labs, x-rays, and more).
    • Base in-network deductible: $1,500/person, $4,500/family (opportunity to lower to $500/person, $1,500/family with reward).
    • In-network out-of-pocket maximum: $3,000/person, $6,000/family (with reward).
    • Monthly employee costs:
      • Single: $110/month ($55 per pay period)
      • Employee + Children: $500/month ($250 per pay period)
      • Employee + One: $546/month ($273 per pay period)
      • Family: $690/month ($345 per pay period)
  • Nice Healthcare: No premium; includes virtual and in-home care, primary care, medication delivery, lab work, diagnostics, and family care. Available to employees and eligible dependents (even if not enrolled in the health plan).
  • Prescription Drug Plan: Administered by Alluma; 25% or 40% co-insurance depending on formulary status. Annual out-of-pocket limit: $2,400/person or $4,800/family.
  • Dental Insurance: Self-insured plan administered by Delta Dental. Coverage includes:
    • Diagnostic & Preventive Services: 100%
    • Basic Services: 80%
    • Major Restorative Services: 50%
    • Orthodontics: 50% (lifetime maximum of $1,500 per eligible dependent child)
    Yearly individual maximum benefit: $1,500. $50 deductible per family member per year (maximum $150 per family; waived for Diagnostic and Preventive Services).
    • Monthly employee costs:
      • Single: $14/month
      • Employee + One: $25/month ($12.50 per pay period)
      • Family: $56/month ($28 per pay period)
  • Life Insurance:
    • County-paid Basic Life Plan: Group term life insurance up to two times annual salary (rounded to the nearest $1,000, maximum $300,000).
    • County-paid dependent coverage:
      • Spouse: $2,000
      • Children up to age 26: $1,250
    • Voluntary Life Insurance: Additional coverage available for employees and spouses based on age and amount. New employees may enroll up to $250,000 (employee) or $50,000 (spouse) without health questions within 30 days of eligibility.
  • Vision Insurance: Discounts on frames, lenses, and contacts through EyeMed. Available to employees and eligible dependents.

Schedule

8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Full-time, regular position.
