Land Protection Manager
About the role
The Western Pennsylvania Conservancy (WPC) seeks an experienced Land Protection Manager to join our dynamic team. As a member-based nonprofit organization, WPC works to protect and restore natural places across Western Pennsylvania through partnerships with landowners, government agencies, and conservation organizations.
Responsibilities
- Identify, contact, and inform landowners about conservation options in WPC's priority conservation areas.
- Maintain paper and electronic files in compliance with WPC's standards.
- Prepare and review legal documents related to land transactions.
- Manage land protection projects, including attending meetings, conducting site visits, and coordinating with various stakeholders.
- Assist science staff in developing parcel-level land protection plans and implement these plans.
- Research and prepare grant proposals to secure funding for land protection initiatives.
- Participate in WPC organizational events and assist with event planning.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree and relevant experience in natural resources, real estate, law, or a related field.
- Knowledge of land protection tools such as easements, deed restrictions, deeds, and best management practices.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.

- Ability to meet physical demands of the job, including driving and conducting field investigations in various terrains.

Benefits

Pay
$57,900 to $68,500 annually. Salary may be higher based on experience.
