About the role

The Land Development Project Engineer position is part of a growing Civil team in Pottsville, Pennsylvania. Key projects include university and school facility expansions, logistics center designs, and municipal infrastructure enhancements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead site development projects from concept through final design and construction support
  • Develop and execute project schedules and work plans
  • Manage project teams with accountability for budget and schedule
  • Mentor and support junior staff in technical and professional development
  • Contribute to Division strategic growth initiatives and collaborate on regional growth strategy
  • Interact with clients, agencies, and other project stakeholders
  • Represent Benesch at industry and professional engagement events
  • Identify new business opportunities and lead strategic project pursuits

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of diverse and progressive civil design experience
  • License to practice as a Professional Engineer in the state of PA or planning to obtain licensure in the near future
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
  • Experience working with public agencies, private clients, and/or municipalities
  • Progressive experience with developing plans, specifications, and submissions per industry standards and requirements
  • Excellent communication and client relations skills
  • Strong organizational skills with a track record for adhering to design budgets and schedules
  • Advanced proficiency in CADD and ability to ensure compliance with project CADD standards
  • Ability to work independently and produce task deliverables in a complete and reviewable manner

Qualifications

While not all qualifications may be required, the following are preferred:

  • Experience with stormwater design, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, and erosion control permitting
  • Knowledge of local ordinances and state permitting regulations
  • Experience with residential subdivisions, municipal facilities, and commercial/industrial buildings
  • Experience with local municipalities and counties
